End of sambruksfelt
The sign indicates that sambruksfelt ends.
When you see the sign
When you pass the sign, the sambruksfelt ends and the special rules for the lane no longer apply. Follow the lane markings and any new signs, and adjust your position if the lane ends or changes into another type of lane.
Rules
- The sign marks the point where the sambruksfelt ends.
- After the sign, the sambruksfelt's requirements concerning which vehicles may use the lane and how many people must be in them no longer apply.
- The sign only ends the sambruksfelt; it does not automatically cancel a speed limit, priority regulation or any other sign.
- If the lane physically ends, the driver must change lanes according to the usual rules and without obstructing other road users.
Tips
- Look ahead for lane arrows and markings showing whether the lane continues as a regular lane or comes to an end.
- Check your mirrors and blind spot before changing lanes if the sambruksfelt narrows.
- Do not change lanes just because you see the sign; first assess how the lane continues beyond the sign.
- Look out for new signs that may indicate a kollektivfelt, tungtrafikkfelt or another permitted use of the lane.
Common misconceptions
- Assuming that the sign means the end of a kollektivfelt. It specifically ends a sambruksfelt.
- Assuming that the lane always disappears at the sign. The lane may continue as an ordinary lane.
- Assuming that the sign cancels the current speed limit. The speed limit is not affected by this sign.

Theory test tip
In the theory test, the sign may be confused with the end of a kollektivfelt or the end of a tungtrafikkfelt. Look carefully at the symbol, and remember that the sign only ends the sambruksfelt—not necessarily the lane itself.
Did you know
Sambruksfelt are used to give vehicles carrying several people better traffic flow and thereby encourage car-sharing. Sign 511 marks exactly where this special arrangement ends.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to change lanes when I pass the sign?
Not necessarily. You only have to change lanes if the markings or the road layout show that the lane ends or becomes restricted to a type of use you are not permitted to make of it.
Can all vehicles use the lane after the sign?
The sambruksfelt's special access requirements end at the sign. However, further use of the lane is still determined by the lane markings and any new signs.
Does the speed limit change at the sign?
No, the sign does not change the speed limit. The current speed limit continues until it is changed or cancelled according to the usual rules.
Is this the same as the end of a kollektivfelt?
No. The end of a kollektivfelt is indicated by sign 510, while sign 511 ends a sambruksfelt.
