Fuel
The sign indicates that fuel is available at or near the road.
When you see the sign
The sign indicates that there is a place offering fuel at or near the road. If you need to refuel, follow any arrow or distance indication and position yourself correctly for the turn-off without braking sharply.
Rules
- The sign is a service sign providing information about fuel availability; it does not require you to stop.
- The fuel station may be located by the road or some distance away, so follow any arrow, distance indication or other supplementary information.
- The sign does not provide information about opening hours, payment methods or which standard fuel types are available.
- When turning off to the fuel station, the usual rules on signalling, positioning and giving way apply.
- When the fuel type is indicated by the text LPG or CNG, this is a specific variant informing you that this type of fuel is available.
Tips
- Check your fuel level early, especially before driving onto a long stretch with few services.
- Look for an arrow or distance indication so that you do not turn off too early or miss the correct exit.
- Signal well in advance and reduce your speed gradually if you are turning into the fuel station.
- Do not assume that the station has the right fuel type or is open 24 hours; check this in advance if it is important.
Common misconceptions
- Some people think the sign means they must stop or refuel, but it only provides information about a service.
- Some people confuse the sign with a vehicle workshop or rapid-charging station, even though these have their own symbols.
- Some people assume that the sign guarantees LPG or CNG, but these fuel types are normally indicated by text on specific sign variants.
