End of priority road

When you see the Zeichen
Your Vorfahrtstraße ends at this sign. At the next intersection or junction, look for the signs there; if there are no Vorfahrt signs and no traffic lights, priority to the right applies in principle.
Rules
- Zeichen 307 cancels the Vorfahrtstraße established by Zeichen 306.
- The sign alone does not require you to stop or yield Vorfahrt.
- At the following intersections and junctions, Vorfahrt is determined by the signs there, a traffic light or—if neither is present—priority to the right.
- Outside a geschlossene Ortschaft, the sign also ends the special parking ban on the carriageway of the Vorfahrtstraße; other Haltverbot and Parkverbot rules continue to apply.
Tips
- Ease off the accelerator early and scan the next intersection for Vorfahrt signs, traffic lights and vehicles approaching from the right.
- Do not assume that you will continue to have Vorfahrt on the same road.
- Do not stop automatically at the sign; stop only if the traffic situation or an additional sign requires it.
- Pay particular attention to difficult-to-see junctions from the right, because priority to the right may apply there after the Vorfahrtstraße ends.
Common misunderstandings
- Zeichen 307 is confused with Zeichen 301. Zeichen 301 grants Vorfahrt only at the next intersection, whereas Zeichen 307 ends a Vorfahrtstraße.
- Some learner drivers mistake the sign for a stop sign or believe it creates an immediate obligation to wait. Zeichen 307 alone does not create such an obligation.
- It is often assumed that priority to the right always applies immediately after the sign. In fact, traffic lights and other Vorfahrt signs must be considered first.
Exam tip
A typical exam trap is whether you must stop or immediately yield Vorfahrt at Zeichen 307. Neither is automatically required; what matters is the arrangement at the following intersection or junction.
Did you know
Zeichen 307 uses the same yellow diamond symbol as Zeichen 306, but is marked with a black diagonal stripe to indicate cancellation. This design principle makes the end of the previous Vorfahrt arrangement easy to recognise.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to stop at Zeichen 307?
No. Zeichen 307 does not require you to stop; however, you must choose your speed so that you can safely identify and follow the new Vorfahrt arrangement.
Does priority to the right automatically apply after the sign?
Only if neither Vorfahrt signs nor a traffic light prescribe a different arrangement at the relevant intersection or junction. Zeichen 307 merely ends the existing Vorfahrtstraße.
May I park on the carriageway outside a geschlossene Ortschaft after Zeichen 307?
The special parking ban on the carriageways of Vorfahrtstraßen generally ends with Zeichen 307. Parking may nevertheless be prohibited for other reasons, such as additional traffic signs or statutory rules on distances and hazardous locations.
Does Zeichen 307 cancel a speed limit?
No. The sign only ends the Vorfahrtstraße and does not cancel an imposed maximum speed.
